ZXY-ED8 is a miniature shielded permalloy audio isolation transformer for 0.1 W to 5 W audio and communication circuits. Two standard ratios, 600:600 and 10K:600, cover the usual matching jobs; a permalloy core and a metal shielding shell do the magnetic and the EMI work in the same small can, and the part is designed to go onto the board through a standard SMT line.
ZXY-ED8, a miniature shielded permalloy audio isolation transformer in a surface-mount package, for low-power audio and communication circuits from 0.1 W to 5 W. Two standard impedance ratios are supplied, 600:600 and 10K:600, and custom ratios are wound to order. The core is permalloy, the housing is a miniature metal shielding shell, and the bobbin is a V-0 flame-retardant moulding rated for 130 °C insulation.
One series, two jobs. The 600:600 build is the line-level matching part, for 600 Ω circuits that need the two sides separated. The 10K:600 build is the step-down ratio, for a high-impedance source feeding a 600 Ω line. Both are the same outline and the same footprint, so a board can be laid out once and populated with either ratio.
The shielding shell. A miniature metal shell around the winding does two jobs that the description separates: it closes the magnetic path against outside fields, and it keeps dust and moisture off the copper. On a crowded board the second job matters as much as the first, because an unshielded audio transformer is an aerial as well as a component.
The core. Permalloy rather than ferrite, which is what lets the part be both small and low-loss at audio frequencies: efficiency is stated as 92 % or higher for the series. The photographs show a laminated permalloy core with the winding laid in the window and a moulded bobbin around it.
The insulation. The bobbin is a V-0 flame-retardant moulding with a 130 °C high-temperature-resistant insulation rating, which is what allows the part to be reflowed rather than hand-soldered. Between windings the part withstands 2.0 kV AC for one minute with complete galvanic separation, and insulation resistance is 100 MΩ or more at 500 VDC.
The termination. Solder legs formed for surface mounting at each end of the body, on a pad pattern small enough for the part to sit inside a portable audio board beside the connectors it serves. The description states compatibility with automatic SMT assembly; it does not state the pad geometry, so take that from the drawing.
Premium permalloy core. Low loss and efficiency of 92 % or higher, for high-fidelity audio signal transmission.
Miniature metal shielding shell. Dustproof, moisture-proof and anti-EMI/RFI in one part, so the transformer does not have to be boxed separately on the board.
Low power range, 0.1 W to 5 W. Customizable, sized for mini portable audio and communication devices rather than for line amplifiers.
Standard 600:600 and 10K:600 ratios. Customizable for various audio circuits; the two standard builds cover line matching and step-down matching.
V-0 flame-retardant bobbin. 130 °C high-temperature-resistant insulation, which is what makes the part reflow-compatible.
2.0 kV AC withstand voltage for 1 minute. Complete galvanic circuit separation between windings.
Insulation resistance 100 MΩ or more at 500 VDC. Tiny leakage current, for clear and stable sound rather than for hum-free-by-luck.
Low temperature rise under full load. Long service life without signal distortion at the rated power.
Compact SMD surface-mount pad. Fully compatible with automatic SMT PCB assembly.
Magnetic and shielding work in one package. High permeability and low loss plus EMI/RFI suppression, in a footprint small enough for a portable device.
Verifiable galvanic separation. 2.0 kV AC withstand voltage and 100 MΩ or more insulation resistance are stated acceptance items, not adjectives.
Design-in time cut by the standard ratios. 600:600 and 10K:600 are the standard builds; anything else is a custom impedance, wound to order.
Built for reflow. V-0 and 130 °C-rated materials support SMT production, so the part does not force a hand-solder step into the line.
Stable under load. Low temperature rise keeps distortion low and service life long at the rated power.
Custom builds to drawing or sample. OEM permalloy transformer work, from a sample or from a drawing, with the specification confirmed before the run.
Miniature portable audio and communication equipment. The 0.1 W to 5 W range is where the part is rated: handheld audio, intercoms and small communication devices.
Audio line isolation and impedance matching. 600 Ω and 10 kΩ systems, which is what the two standard ratios are for.
EMI/RFI-sensitive boards. Where a shielded audio isolation transformer is the requirement rather than an option.
SMT production lines. A surface-mount magnetic component that goes through the same reflow as the rest of the board.

The part is ordered as ZXY-ED8 with the impedance ratio stated, 600:600 or 10K:600. The core, the shielding shell, the bobbin and the SMD termination are common to the series; the turns and the copper are set by the ratio, so an order that does not name the ratio cannot be checked against a single acceptance table. Custom permalloy transformer and OEM builds are made to customer drawing or sample.
Certification: the scans supplied with this description cover the company's quality management system and other ZXY models; none of them names ZXY-ED8 on its own, so no compliance claim is made here and the badge artwork from one of the supplied renders was not used. If the listing needs a certificate, quote the number from the certificate itself.
